High quality, high energy grain is the key to producing consistently tender, juicy and flavoursome beef.

There are many interrelated factors which influence overall quality of our Australian grain fed beef, from carcase quality, to other influences including breed and feeding program. Haverick Meats consistently prepare grainfed beef sourced from farmers that breed cattle purely for the production of high quality beef, indicated by smooth, close grained texture, carnation red colour and finely marbled fat within the lean muscle. It is paramount for beef to have optimum levels of intramuscular fat, better known as marbling, assisting in preventing moisture loss during cooking, stimulating flavour and juiciness during eating.

Initially cattle are born and raised on open natural pastures of the Australian outback before being finished on grain feedlots accredited by the National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme, depending on the feed category, from 100 to 250 days. Feedlots administer specifically formulated, high energy grain ration from locally grown wholesome, steam-flaked wheat, cottonseed and barley, which have been formulated to compliment desired carcase attributes and the genetics of selected cattle.

MSA - Meat Standards Australia

Guaranteeing the quality of the beef we supply is of paramount importance to Haverick Meats. From our strategic alliances with the companies and their brands highlighted below, some endorse the MSA program. That is why we are committed to the MSA's Quality Assurance Program for the meat industry. This independent scheme ensures that customers can be certain that if they order MSA graded products the product they receive will be consistently tender, flavoursome and juicy. The MSA scheme is comprehensive, covering producers, processors, food service operators and retailers - literally covering every step from paddock to plate. The ability to guarantee tenderness, flavour and juiciness comes from applying strict standards and procedures across a number of critical factors.
